LOZT is a transatlantic duo with a country edge, hailing from Orange County, California and London, England. Lauren Scudder and Tom Ryder come together to draw on folk, acapella, soul and R&B, creating songs with witty lyrics and soaring harmonies. After their first song was sent to Nashville, a previously unexplored avenue of alt country has emerged. Expect plenty of chemistry, plenty of emotion, and more than a few laughs.

Lozt's performance

“The combination of Tom’s British charm, folky sound and quirky lyrics fused with Lauren’s American soul and R&B vibes creates pure magic” “LOZT marries together two sensational voices. The songwriting is heartfelt, clever and genuinely entertaining. The live show can make you laugh and cry as Tom and Lauren are both great to listen to and great to watch. The chemistry between the two of them, and between them and the audience, is electric.”

Lozt's most noteworthy performance achievements

Tom Ryder: Tom has spent half of his life writing and performing music. Growing up in Bishop's Stortford on the outskirts of London, he initially operated as part of an acoustic duo with school friend Joe Hazell, aged 13. This evolved into the four-piece band The Kazans, who became well-known in the South East of the UK over the next decade. After studying at Durham University, Tom started to focus on his solo project in 2015. Several releases later, he has performed on four continents and in front of Rod Stewart, Emma Watson and Chris Evans, almost topping the iTunes singer/songwriter charts in the process. Now, having connected with a special talent from another continent altogether, his latest project - LOZT - is set to take flight.
Lauren Scudder: Southern California native Lauren Scudder writes compelling narratives accompanied by lilting guitar. Fusing jazz, pop, folk and R&B, her style is reminiscent of Corinne Bailey Rae and Joss Stone. Classically trained at a young age and well-versed in musical theatre, she has an acute attention to detail and a commanding stage presence. A keen traveller, Lauren has performed at iconic venues including the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Carnegie Hall in New York, Berklee College of Music in Boston, The South Bank in London, and La Madeleine in Paris.  Now she is collaborating with Tom Ryder to co-create LOZT. The next adventure awaits.
